Elizabeth Bay Reservoir, Namibia

In October 2012 an inspection by the Mine's Technical Solutions personnel noted severe spalling and surface damage to the concrete seawater reservoir at the Elizabeth Bay diamond mine. Further reports on the condition of the reservoir were compiled by a third party in February 2014 and by Technical Solutions in March 2014.

Due to the severity of the issues noted, and the significant safety and production risks, DPA Specialist Consulting Engineers were requested to undertake an on-site inspection and perform concrete diagnostics testing to establish the structural integrity and durability condition of the reservoir.
